Young People

Providing opportunities for young people to grow and flourish

Covid-19 Update

Due to the current climate we have had to suspend all face to face groups and activities.

We are currently holding a weekly Youth Session on Thursday's 4:30pm-5:30pm via Zoom where we can share how we are getting on, play games and do a faith based study together.

WCCYM are providing online versions of their lunchtime Christian Union groups and Thirst Youth Service (term time only). To find out more about WCCYM online youth work please contact info@wccym.org for more information.

Please do get in touch with our Youth Worker via the contact bar on the side if you have any questions or would like information on how your young person can get involved with our online groups and activities.

We pray that you all stay safe and well and look forward to the time we can all meet together again at our usual groups and events.

We are very fortunate to have a vibrant and gifted group of Young People aged between 11 and 18 as part of our community at CBC and we are privileged to walk alongside them as we help them understand what it is to be an authentic disciple of Jesus… And they often walk alongside us too.

We gather as a youth group (school years 7 to 11) once a week on a Sunday morning during our weekly service to explore the bible and discuss relevant topics that young people face today in a dynamic and interactive way. We also meet at different times during the week, month, and year often with help from other organisations including WCCYM and Youth for Christ.

WCCYM

CBC works very closely with WCCYM (West Cambridge Christian Youth Ministries) to help put on bigger and better events in and around Comberton enabling us to walk alongside even more Young People. From weekly lunch clubs in local secondary schools to a monthly youth service with dinner to annual punting and residential trips, WCCYM runs something for everyone. For more information about WCCYM visit their website.

CVC Christian Union (CU)

Look out for Lydia our youth worker and the WCCYM team at Crossover on Friday lunchtimes in GE3, for students from Yr 7 to Yr 11. An opportunity to eat your lunch with your friends, play some games, chat about life and issues, learn something about God, and be encouraged in your Christian journey. Anyone is welcome to come to the group.

If you are in sixth form at Comberton come along to the Christian Union group on Wednesday lunchtimes in SIX2. Join us for discussion around issues of life and faith while hanging out with your friends over lunch.

Mocha the Week

Come find us on Friday lunchtimes in the Sixth Form, we'll be giving out hot drinks and biscuits and be there for a friendly chat.

Thirst

Thirst is WCCYM's monthly youth service held here at CBC on the second Sunday of the month 6pm - 8:30pm. An opportunity to meet together, have a meal, worship, hear someone share something from the Bible or an aspect of faith (this could be a young person or adult sharing), and have time to pray. The purpose is to encourage you in your faith. All are welcome.

EDGE Community Youth Group

EDGE Community Youth Club

On Thursday afternoons during term-time, CBC hosts EDGE a community youth club for all young people in and around Comberton. EDGE has something for everyone: Table Tennis, Pool Tables, Games Consoles, Craft, and if you would rather have a chat, or get some advice, there are three sessional youth workers who are trained to be able to help you with where you are.
